Here, I think, are the final lyrics of the third verse, slightly
revised by me from at least two other versions that helpful people
have posted -- no great changes, just minor tweaking....

It took mighty men like Sam McCord
To tame a town like Nome.
The Yukon breed of fightin' men
Had a code all their own.
They'd stand up to a grizzly bear
And put him in his place.
Was s' tough in Nome, Alaska,
That canary birds sang bass.

Goofy lyrics, but many thanks!
