Not sure if he was woofing or reverse woofing!
My take? 2-2 or 3-1 in favor of Aussies..
Why?
Aus:
1. while this Aussie team is relatively inexperienced in India in
tests, they are highly motivated to prove critics wrong. There will be
humongous extra efforts by Aussies (by history) to make sure that they
do well.
2. Ricky Ponting: Extremely motivated to increase his average against
India as well as get close to world records and become one of the
legendary captains for Aussies. This series, if he wins, he will be
one of the greatest aussie cricketers, all time.
India
1. Already over confident
2. 5 players, at least 3 of whom should not have been there in the
team and will contribute nothing, i.e. SRT, RD, VVSL, SG and AK.
Means, India will put a team of 6 people, realistically.

Disagree with most of that, mainly based on the history of the
mentioned individual's performances.
Ponting will probably get runs somewhere, but H Singh most definitely
has the wood on him.
SRT, RD, VVS, SG, AK have all done well against the aussies before at
some stage - to a lesser extent SG and RD (but they still know how to
make runs against them). Provided Hayden does not dominate the series,
Australia will be relying on katich, watson, johnson and either white
or krezja to make solid contributions to be competitive. India should
have the better of the aussie spinners and that will help them take a
closely fought 2-1 or 3-1. |

Good points but IMHO the Indians are favourites for this series as they have
a better attack for the normal Indian pitches ( although the pitch for the
first Test is supposedly bouncy and more suited to pace) and the Australian
batting against quality spin on turning wickets is not that great and
neither is their form against pace bowling when the ball is not coming onto
the bat quickly.
Should be a great series hopefully not marred by outside factors |
