In the warm up match of the Australian tour of India, two batsmen had
identical centuries scores in the first innings of the President's XI.
This got me wondering, how often has this happened in International
cricket.

Interesting stats, as always.

I found it somewhat intriguing that 3 times the score was 100, and 8
times between 100 and 105.

I don't want to so quickly highjack the thread, but have you done any
analysis to see if batsmen really do fall more frequently after a
milestone like 100?

A total of 208 players have scored at least 5 Test centuries in their
Test careers. Here is a list of players who have achieved the lowest
and highest averages of the centuries (qualification at least 5
centuries in Test career).

Thanks for all that, great to read. Not too sure how to properly
interpret it, mind you. Just a couple of interesting things;

1) Cook doesn't score big hundreds, only averaging 111.57 for his
tons. (only interesting has he's a current player)
2) Lara has scored more runs in total from his tons than Bradman.
3) Sehwag averages more than Bradman (although I'm sure this will come
down by the end of Sehwag's career)(even more impressive when you
consider Sehwag only has 1 not out)
4) NZ must have had a "get a ton, win a jug of beer" thing going, and
Burgess must have loved his beer! Ignoring his HS of 119*, he got 4
tons for a total of 421 runs Smile
5) Mankad had the highest median, by a reasonable margin too.
6) SRT, S Waugh and Ponting didn't make it into the top (or bottom)
15.

thanks again Smile

GO COLTS!!!

Really great post, hats off.

Although it must be said that I hadn't realised Bradman played for England
and Sehwag for Australia.
