I've been seeing this commercial for "Star Wars: Clone Wars" a lot on
Cartoon Network:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aq0dpaL7qc
Retconning gives Anakin his own apprentice. I took one look at the
apprentice's character design and thought, "Man, Lucas is really pandering to
the drooling fanboys out there." :-P

And "Not REALLY Shaak Ti, because we killed her off in the movies
offscreen before we had as much chance as we wanted to market her, but
someone just as cool who *might* have been her from Episode 2!" at that...

Oh god. It looks like the movie has way too much juvenile humor in it. A
baby Hutt that belches? Gahhhh... This commercial makes it look like a kids
movie. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but it's quite a change
from the dark and serious tone of the commercials I've seen for it up to
now. |

Supposedly the son of Jabba. Gee, does that mean that mean old Leia
orphaned some poor kid in "Return"? :-)

The tone definitely makes this out as a kid's movie. But that outfit
they designed for the apprentice makes me wonder if they're going for the
pervy fans at the same time.

I've seen the trailer a couple of times and I have just one question
.... what is Prince Charming, from Shrek 2/3, doing in this movie,
armed with a light saber?

They'd be more interested in the robots and spaceships.

And, seriously... You guys are complaining that they put a
skimpy (if it even can be said to be skimpy... come on!) outfit
on a Twi'lek?! You must've missed the last 25 years of Star Wars
material... |

Well, considering the kid would have been Leia's age in Jedi + time from
Clone Wars movie to Ep3 + age of kid in Clone Wars movie... |

It's a cartoon, aimed at kids. Why does it matter?

- Nope, the 'look' is off, whack.
- It may be 'for' kids but that doesn't mean they should make it ugly.
- It is Star Wars, a very big part of modern societies' toolbox of
references. Going for the cash has always been a part of a measure of
success But it seems the guys making this would have some pride in
craftsmanship. It would seem.
