I was listening to NPR, and they were talking about Portland, and the
improvements being made, so more people have access to safe places to ride
their bikes.
Very cool.
However, are these bike paths able to be used by the equestrian community?
Could Princess Mocha and yourself travel these routes?

Sounds like Springwater Corridor.

Most of them are deep in the urban community and nowhere near horse
world, until you get out in Gresham. However, the hard-core bikers
are not very horse-friendly, and they get grouchy about horses that
aren't deadheads. The area they're talking about probably is the same
one featured a while back when a horse got spooked into a ditch by a
biker. We get a lot of race bike trainers out by the barn and they're
idiots.

Nope. Nowhere near our barn. The one near my house is blacktop and
heavy on the fast, race training bike riders who are a danger to
pedestrians and slower bike riders.
I'd sooner import The Girl to Amsterdam and ride her on the bike
trails there. The bikers are saner over there.

(geez, do I sound jaded? I mean to sound jaded. PDX bike riders tend
to be aggressive jerks who run traffic lights and stop signs without
regard for drivers and pedestrians alike. Especially in comparison to
Amsterdam.) |

Pity about the hard-core bikers. They ride the narrow roads around here.
Idiots is polite.

So sad that a resource such as this gets dominated by a dangerous few. More
equestrian friendly trails are needed. We have some going in about 10 miles
from here. A new housing development with horse trails, so they say. I
haven't been to check them out yet. I think you have to share with golf
carts.

Could The Big Red Horse and I come too?
