You might want to check things out first, next time.

The JSS album, with Elliman's original, was released
in 1970. Elliman's single (and Reddy's COVER of the
same song) came out in 1971.

The album came out before *any* staging.

Check it out....and yes, blow it out your ear.

I'm so old, I remember it being the ONLY good music
to come from over-rated hack Andrew Lloyd Webber.
No wonder Tim Rice left the partnership, out of
embarrassment ;)

I finally found the ONLY secret of looking younger:
just tell everyone you're 11 years older than you
really are ;)

Feeling oddly optimistic reading the news these days.

Extra credit to anyone who can tell me what became of Alexis Korner
without looking it up. ;)

Guess I'll have to flunk that quiz: while I'd always heard of Koerner[1]
(I remember his name being spelled that way, not his adopted "Korner"),
I can't say I even remember any of his music. Saw his name a lot on song
credits, though.

But what can you (or anyone else) tell us about the following? (Not so
much in the spirit of "stump the experts" as in "who else remembers this
stuff?")

- Arthur Brown (as in "The Crazy World of" and "Fire")
- Screaming Jay Hawkins[2]

[1] He wasn't related to "Spider" John Koerner (of Koerner, Ray &
Glover), was he?

[2] While I remember listening to A. Brown as a young 'un, I have to
confess I never ever heard of Hawkins until I was turned on to him in
the 1980s.

endless nights. It is so bad that a sort of grandeur creeps into it.
It drags itself out of the dark abyss of pish, and crawls insanely up
the topmost pinnacle of posh. It is rumble and bumble. It is flap and
doodle. It is balder and dash."

I've been telling everyone that for the last 20 years. Now there are
