It's amazing,

Another diver posts a dive report on a NJ Wreck and his responses are flames.

If you're refering to my post in re: the APL-31, I didn't consider any of my responses
"flames" at all. I learn a lot from this group. Sometimes, the lessons have to be stern,
but only because the people giving them give a rodent's posterior about both their's
and others lives here (not that you don't). Having been here for only 2.5 years, I've
been able to dive with quite a few regulars here and always learned something (Popeye,
you still owe me a Dutch day. Smile ). I found my dive mentor on this group.

I'd love to accept your offer, but Long Island is way too far a haul for me (I'm still trying
to accept Manasquan/Brielle as *necessary*, as is my gas credit card). :-)

Spam? This looks to me like a non commercial group of folks who charter
a full boat so they can do what they want to and maybe save a few
dollars (or pay a few more dollars and not have to deal with a boat
crowded with idiots). It's common in this part of the country. An
invitation to join such a group is a perfect use of this forum.

I agree.  It's a hell of a lot better use than all the gun crap that shows
up daily.

  Sure.

We could have an "Is anybody here?" thread once a month like UK.rec.scuba.

Maybe Lee could bring his gun crap there? Surely it's time he finds a
new group of people to offend and irritate.

Can't confirm that. Nightly might work, though, but only if I neglected
making differences with respect to hell, and crap.

Nah, I already straightened them out on the subject.

Surely it's time he finds a new group of people to offend and irritate.

Compared to whom else around here?

In the ten year regular crowd, leaving ESG out of it?

Dude, if you think that was a flame, you better hang on to your
wallet and your testicles around here.

Which boat is it?

It's the LockNess out of Freeport, Long Island. I am a part of this group.
Been diving the wrecks up here for years. Too many dives to count.
We basically have the boat to ourselves. Makes for a great trip, great food
and the usual banter that goes on between divers.
As a group, some of us have been together for over 10 years. No "macho" divers
here. There might a be "puke fest" on the bow at times though....

The cost of wreck diving here in the North East is expensive. Since we book
the boat for every Sunday, it cuts down on the cost of the dives. If you
book through us,
it will be less than booking from their website http://www.locknessdiveboat.net/.

I believe that we are the cheapest charter out right now. All trips are 2
dives w/2hr SI. The downside.. and you WWW's (warm water whimps) will cringe
at this...
boat leaves the dock at 6am, you lug your own gear there and take it off.
Trip to most sites is a couple of hours. Back to the dock usually by 4pm.
So, a little more info.
Spam? No way. We aint making anything off this. We want others to experience
the wonderful cold, dark, limited vis, HUGE REAL wrecks that we dive!
Oh, and the lobsters taste better. So do the flat fish, sea bass, black fish,
mussels and scallops!

It's amazing,
I post an opportunity to dive and the response is a flame. The pest
doesn't even read the entire post. Another diver posts a dive report
on a NJ Wreck and his responses are flames. Do you all get your air
fills online?

What's amazing is that you considered te response to be a flame. Smile
Dennis

He can be a little "sensitive" at times, but is basically a good guy. He
get's flamed on the boat though!
