There's an online database somewhere (the name escapes me at the
moment - maybe someone here knows) that allows one to search for a
song by singing the melody (or a portion of it), or entering it on a
virtual keyboard. Unfortunately I found the results to be hit-or-miss,
but maybe that's because it doesn't yet have a suitably comprehensive
collection of data.
