It is a great pleasure for me to "turn people on" to the treasures
that the former generations exposed me to in the opera world;this is
how we learn....like dad taking you to a baseball game when you are a
kid and as a result, you become a fan.
I never had the bnefit of the thing called "Internet' as a
teen...neither were there videos, cd's and a wealth of available
material from which to learn. I lugged the heavy 78 r.p.m. disc albums
from a record lending library (78 r.p.m.....what is that??Look it
up!!!)
and then when I started standing at the old Met i met people who had
seen Ponselle, De Luca, Martinelli,etc....even a few older people who
actually heard Patti!!!!
Therefore having the opportunity to spread the word through the
Vissi d'arte forum and the podcast site (http://
handelmania.libsyn.com)
is so rewarding to me, especially when i receive e-mail or comments on
the sites that someone got to like Madama X or some opera they never
heard of.
Any of you teachers out there know how exciting it is to see
young students appearing to "eat up" what subject you might be
teaching;I found this, for example, in foreign language classes. (Just
an aside...I once took 5 kids from a French class out and told them
they could order ANYTHING from the menu...the little devils..they were
smart enough to have a good full meal....at my expense..no cheap
hamburgers for them!!! MY PROBLEM!!)
Please do ask questions on the forums and please make requests on the
podcast site so you can become the opera Frankenstein I am....thank
God!!!! as ever Charlie

This post is written on Vissidarte in response to the now near 700
members ,many of whom have asked for special info.,sound
files,etc..and many newbies have joined to learn more about opera...
I only wish more people here would understand how rewarding nice
things can be...instead of deliberately causing trouble...oh
well....Life goes on...ch

Vissidarte is moderated by you, so anyone who says that you are a
tiresome, unfunny, repetitive windbag gets deleted. Not really a
discussion group when you can delete the bad news. At least here
people can tell you what a tiresome, unfunny, repetitive windbag you
are.

The only ONE person I ever deleted was the fool Bollman..and of course
the average 1000 people who read the podcasts have no problems...i
could delete their comments..but that was needed only like three
times.

Keep trying to justify your stupid lying opinions..keep
dreaming..Dream on, and remember the role in Louise that suits you
best...changed to "Queen of the fools."

Speaking of deleting...There is not ONE FORUM I know who would allow a
shithead like you there...ch
