You can do this with any keyboard. Say the words in Quotes and follow
instructions on the instrument.
"When God created Adam everything had beauty and meaning. There was no
need for music since every note was perfect."
Hit one note followed by another.
"Sound itself was sacred, and God told Adam that there was no need for
music in this perfect oasis. So, Adam walked upon the garden..."
Hit each note for every step.
"But, Adam felt alone. Though every note was beautiful, it didn't feel
complete."
Hit each note, with each sounding more lonelier than the one before.
"So, God created for Adam, Eve. Adam played notes and so did Eve.
They played the notes together."
Hit two notes at the same time to create chords.
"There was a sense of harmony, a sense of completeness. And, all was
happy. There was no past, no future. No need for any narrative and no
music. This was the perfect garden of Eden where every chord was
perfect and beautiful. Sound itself was sacred, and there was no need
for music. No need for drama. Only faith and happiness."
Keep hitting two notes together as chords.
"But, then the serpent came along."
Hit the black thingy on the keyboard as a discordant note.
"The serpent asked Eve if she wanted to know the secret to melody and
music. Eve said such was not allowed by God. The knowledge of music
only belonged to god. For man, there was only single notes, perfect
and harmonious chords between man and woman."
Hit Eve's innocent notes to the discordant notes of the Serpent.
"The serpent said God doesn't mind if man knows the secret to music.
And, music is even more perfect and wonderful than notes or chords.
So, the Serpent plays a little melody".
Play a pleasant melody...
"And, Eve played as the Serpent had played."
Play Eve's first clumsy attempt at music.
"As Eve played it over and over, she understood music. And, she found
it more pleasurable than the notes and chords she had known before."
Play the music more naturally and more seductively. Black keys are
those of the Serpent, white keys those of Eve.
"The music awoke Adam from his slumber, and he came to where Eve and
the Serpent were playing this music, something he had never heard
before."
Stop the music.
"Eve asked Adam to join in, but Adam said God had forbidden the
knowledge of music. He was only supposed to know the perfect notes and
the chords with Eve. The art of music belonged to God alone. Music was
the secret to creation and destruction, knowledge and art forbidden to
man. But, Eve said that can't be because the music is so fun. She and
the Serpent started to play again."
Play the music again.
"Adam was fascinated, and as God didn't appear to protest, he listened
more closely and liked what he heard. Whole new visions of reality and
possibility opened up before him. So, he too decided to play the
music."
So, now we have the music played by the Serpent, Eve, and Adam.
"The music meandered hither and thither, rose up and down, expressed
things that seemed both divine and sinister, beautiful and ugly,
sacred and profane, etc. But, it grew faster and louder.... But,
suddenly God's notes thundered and there was silence."
Hit a bunch of notes on the left side with a big THUMP.
"God asked, 'what is this sound I hear? Is it music? Who taught you
how to play? And, who gave you permission?' Eve blamed the Serpent
and Adam blamed Eve. God cut the limbs off the Serpent."
Play a few shrilly notes.
"And, the serpent slithered away."
Play a few slithery notes.
"Then, God punished Adam and Eve by making them feel shame."
Play notes that sound troubled and ashamed.
"Then, God told Eve that she would feel pain at childbirth."
Play a few notes that sound painful.
"Then, God told Adam that he would have to struggle to make ends
meet."
Play a few notes that sound heavy and weary.
"Then, God told Adam and Eve that animals and man would devour one
another."
Play a few notes that are fearful and anxiety-ridden.
"Then, God cast Adam and Eve from the Garden which then turned into
wasteland."
Play a few notes which sound sad and plaintive.
"Cast away from the garden and on their own to protect themselves from
the elements, Adam and Eve could no longer rely on the perfect notes
and chords. They now had to play the music of life. But, the secret of
music, which they had learned from the Serpent, was not the perfect
music known to God alone. The music known to man aspired to be godly,
descended into the satanic, was at times beautiful, at times ugly. On
rare occasions, it was sublime and one could almost believe man was
with God again, but the connection had been forever lost."
Play a series of music which express all that is good and bad about
humanity. |
