It does look like there's a good case for using a gun control group or

I'm not waxing anything. I simply said I don't have a problem with
him.

He is what he is, regardless of how you attempt to portray him.

For you to say you don't have any problem with someone, anyone, like
that, is still a reflection on you.

Lee said it's an "everybody/dechucka" thing and I corrected
him. Apparently you wanted to get between us by interjecting your own
feelings about dechucka.

No such thing.

I've gone ten years here without making a single lawyer crack.

I go out of my way (way out) to not be partial between my friends, which
is especially tough in your case, because I'm just naturally on the other
side of the argument. :-)

But I do great work.

I can respect your feelings, but I don't
have to share them.

Dechucka is a liar, an obfuscator, and a petty, spineless little
douchebag.

That's not my feeling, or my opinion, but and extensively highlighted
fact.

After all, I don't expect you to mirror my feelings about some of your
buddies, do I?

Unless I see someone being particularly vicious or vile, and my
standards are set pretty high for this tough-skinned newsgroup, I
don't get too opinionated about it. Words are merely words. It's the
action that counts to me. Even if dechucka appears to be a liar, an
obfuscator, and a petty, spineless little douchebag on rec.scuba, I'll
give him the benefit of the doubt until I meet him in person. And
don't forget that, as a lawyer, 90% of my clients are liars,
obfuscators, and petty, spineless little douchbags. (And that number
is only so low because I practiced civil law. If I were a criminal
lawyer, the number would be closer to 99%) If I openly detested all
petty, spineless little douchbags that lied and obfuscated, I wouldn't
have been very successful at my practice.

We do agree on a few things or we wouldn't have anything in common and
wouldn't get along at all. Obviously we differ on gun control issues,
but on the Terry Schiavo issue, for example, we only would have fought
over the chance to pull her plug. But I too have friends here that
don't always see eye-to-eye with you, as you know.

Impartiality is a good thing. If I ever go back to law, I'd love to
be a judge. (Mainly because of the cool robe) Would you be my
bailiff? (A kick-ass uniform included as well, plus you get to tote a
gun all day and maybe even use it occasionally)

See, we agree quite a lot. I was thinking exactly the same thing when
I extended the invitation.

Being in L.A. most of my life, I've had ample opportunity to do the
tourist stuff like being part of "a live studio audience", but no one
really gets into the tourist activities in their own hometown. There
were several exceptions, one of them being part of the audience to
watch the filming of an episode of Night Court during what I'm
guessing was their first season since I hadn't even heard of them at
the time and don't even remember what the episode was about. I only
went along because I liked a girl in the group that got the tickets.
Anyway, during a break in the filming, that girl's friend asked Bull
if she could rub his head and Bull immediately walked over to comply.
I never got a chance to rub his head, but I can honestly claim I was
sitting next to a girl who did. I could have reached out and copped a
feel, but I had better manners back then. That's one of the biggest
regrets of my life.

Christ, I can't remember being that young.

My biggest claim to fame was being in the opening credits of the short-
lived Harlem Globetrotters Popcorn Machine TV show. My mom apparently
took me to the filming of the pilot episode and they used the scene of
one of the Globetrotters (Curly Neal?) touseling my hair during the
opening credits for the rest of the season. Unfortunately that was
pre-VCR, so I don't have any record of it today.

According to Wikipedia, the one season was back in 1974, which makes
me 6 at the time. The only reason I remember it is because I watched
every single episode they aired that year if only to see myself at the
beginning of the show.

That live studio crowd is bizzare.

I was on the Captain Kangaroo show as a kid. :-)

No shit.

I spent 6 months being a technical advisor and flunky on a wrenchhead
show called "Road Ready", but it was horrific.

Mostly, I had to fix the cars that they acted like they were fixing, and
stand around while they did 37 takes of installing a windshield wiper while
trying to get the female lead's cleavage in the shot.

It's no way to make a living (monotony), and I feel sorry for people
that do.

I was also on a radio show once as the guest expert (Q&A auto repair),
and I froze at the mike on my first question until everybody busted out
laughing...

I did alright after that. :-)

Christ, I can't remember being that young.
