The Popeye/dechucka battle has been going on about as long as dechucka's
been participating in this group. His comments are often intentionally
inflammatory and, as I'm sure you have noticed, there are subjects about
which many of us are easily inflamed. It's not exactly a Popeye/dechucka
thing, it's an everybody/dechucka thing.

There's an example of what drives people away. The comment isn't that
bad but there have been worse. One of my first posts results in being
called a moron (I'm looking at you dechuka) for responding to an
unintelligible response. It was nice to see others respond to dechucka
in my defense, it's just unfortunate that they had to.

I've been here for 11 years now.

There's always a "Popeye vs." -someone-, and I can assure you their
adversarial quality has diminished to a virtual intellect vacuum (speaking
of David) over the years.

After I cite them lying a few dozen times, and force them to scurry, then
it just becomes rote maintenance work like defragging, gun cleaning, or
sweeping leaves off the back deck.

I don't complain or agonize about the leaves falling, I just make short
work of the simple task.

The one that killed himself was pretty fun, and the "anonymous" one we
started calling at home and work fled in terror.
