This morning, I heard and saw about a half dozen crows chasing
a larger bird. I didn't get a good enough look at the larger bird
to tell if it was the hawk some people have reported seeing
nearby.

Could be. Predators seem to dislike encroaching predators.

Hi Robert,

I don't know about chasing, but I've seen crows harassing Bald Eagles,
and always wished the eagle would grab a crow in its talons and give it
a good squeeze - but they don't.
