The result is very hard to predict. Spain will have more ball
possession and more short passes. They have more routine and the
defenders are quick so they should be slight favorite.
For Germany it will be better if Spain goes to the final as the fast
Russian attackers will be poison for the slow and clumsy German
defense. The Spanish attackers are quick, too, but may be more
predictable as the Portuguese have been.
When did Germany ever have no clumsy defenders?
Discuss! |

Portugal <> Spain, both have a different style. Either of the
opponents will be dangerous to Germany. Both are in full form. Spain
did look ordinary against Italy but it was because of Italy's
excellent defending. In the final anything can happen. No favorites
there.
Gernmany was a little complacent against Turkey today and almost paid
the price. If not for Lahm, would they have been in the final? |

Friedrich and Lahm certainly aren't slow nor are they clumsy...the
central defenders, Mertesacker and Metzelder are tall and strong in
the air. They certainly got the job done in World Cup 2006.
Problem is midfield and the goalkeeper who is past his prime.
Rolfes has been disappointing and Frings. is banged up and sucks in
anything but the 4-4-2.
Its always guesswork how Ballack is best used.. Podolski and
Schweinsteiger lack committment.
Lehman is just plain awful. Adler should be playing. |

Yes, because it would have been a 2-1 result. |
