It would be a miracle if anyone can think of a book from this
description - I am looking for a couple books.
I read a book when I was a child, in the late 1960's early 70's about
2 children, a brother and sister I think, who wandered into a castle.
I think it was a "black castle" if I remember. I don't remember
anything more about the book, but I remember it was an absolute
favorite back then.
I also read a book about a girl who goes to her cousins farm where she
rides a pony all summer. All the kids have horses I believe. At the
end of the summer is some kind of a horse show I think. She is
devistated thinking she has to go home and leave the pony behind but
the book ends by her getting to keep the pony. I think she may have
brought it home with her to board some where and then was going to
return to the farm, next year. |

Hello,
The first book sounds interesting. Let me know if you find out the
title.
I have read a ton of books with my son as he is growing up and haven't
ran across either one of those.
Take Care,

readership.

Replying most to move this misplaced reply
*under* the correct post.
I just read a synopsis of that story, and I see
nothing about a "black castle"....only an evil
machine that wants to control humanity. (Not
that there isn't a castle in it, it's just that
the evil machine might be more noteworthy). But
it fits the timeline, so maybe the OP will come
back and see if this jars a memory or two.

Maybe "Knight's Castle" by Edward Eager?
