MAN OF STONE

This long form "hard" ambient composition was created using only an
acoustic guitar as the sound source. The instrument was vibrated, bowed,
plucked, strummed and otherwise abused with minimal use of
post-production effects (compression, EQ, delay & reverb) to retain the
natural sound of the source. Each layer was recorded in a single,
uninterrupted take. The end result is roughly equivalent to a relaxing
afternoon in a sawmill.

THE MR. FIST GROOVE ORCHESTRA – CLASSICAL FIASCO

For this outing, Mr. Fist brings you a seamless melding of smooth
grooves and orchestral arrangements, suitable for fine dining and other
intellectual pursuits. Slip on your best evening wear and prop your nose
up, defiantly in the air, so everyone knows just how much better you are
than they!

These recordings are not recommended for the poor or the ignorant.

Enjoy!

Of course, the question we all want answered is: "Are we looking at
Mr. Stephen Ugo Rosin in the cover art for this album????" Smile

1. Introductions - made me uncomfortable. Odd voice processing.
2. Folding Spaces - very strong bass rhythm. well done chillout. The
track was a bit long, which implies it is lounge music, to be heard in
the back. 3 minutes is max for something you are paying attention to.
It really does remind me of something Art of Noise might do. Or maybe
Thomas Dolby (the bass aspect).
3. CLosing the Curtain - the snare is quite high in the mix from my
perspective. maybe I'm just picky. I'm not sure what aesthetic
statement needed to take 8 minutes plus.. perhaps this is background
music for a movie? Hmm, what comes to mind. Nothing in particular.
4. Bigger steps - I like the bells. Clever drum rolls. And thank
goodness the snare is mixed down lower, so it can pepper the track as
opposed to taking it over.
5. Fading in the Moonlight - laid back track for real
6. Only You Get Fooled - this could be on the soundtrack for John
Cusak's "Better Off Dead" . I loved that movie. And this would be
great background music, but as something to listen to without video
accompaniment, it isnt for me.
7. Only You Get Fooled
8. Heaven is Falling

..

10.

Overall: a good album.
