I recorded 3 females and 1 male singing A Cappella using a single
microphone. I am looking for a way to reduce the presence of the male (bass)
part. I suspect that this is no trivial task. I tried a bass cut filter
using Cool Edit 2000, but that does not really do the job.
I thought I would check this group anyway.

Re-record using multitrack.
There is no other way balance the material in post production. |

Ive done some nominal reduction 3-6 db using a harmonic filter..
set the lowest fundamental freq about 200 hz or what ever you find is
the male voclalist lowest,, the filter the second harmonic along with
primary ..
DC7 restoration software has harmonic filters which are frequency and
slope adjustable
