I am looking for a book on famous (American) racehorses, for YA
(snip)
Each chapter was about a different horse..including
Quote: some I would never have heard of otherwise: Nashua, Omaha, Gallant
Fox, Bold Ruler, etc. Stymie, Whirlaway. Does this sound familiar
to anyone?
Thanks,
Karen
Yes, it does....but I can't think of the exact title off-hand.
It's not a Farley fiction book, but part of a "Young Reader"
collection - and I run across it fairly often. Next time I see
it, I'll pick one up.
Kris
Hi - I didn't hear about this again, does anyone else know what book I
am looking for? I'm still interested!
Thanks!

Could this be one of the CW Anderson books with the big beautiful
lithographs? _Twenty Gallant Horses_, etc.?

Twenty Gallant Horses it is! I just received it..and frankly I hadn't
remembered that it was the shape and size that it is. But as soon as
I read some of the chapters, I knew it was the right book. A
somewhat different set of horses than I remembered - but that's fine
by me. I wonder were I learned about the other horses? Hmm... :-)

A follow-up on this. I think I *was* looking for another book, as
there ae horses not mentioned in Twenty Gallant Horses that I'm pretty
sure were in the same volume (e.g. Gallant Fox, I just thought of him
today). So, because the storesi, the very prose, were familiar from
this book, I'll bet the other is also C. W. Anderson. I'll do some
ILL searching to find out which one!
