I have an opportunity to purchase either the Stiga Expert or Stiga
Supreme Table for the same (attractive) price. This is for in-home
use for my family; the table will not be moved and will remain
stationary 99 percent of the time. I have not owned a TT table
before. I have not played much, but look forward to learning how to
play (and have no plans to play in tournaments). Between the two
tables, what makes more sense? Among other things, I have heard that
the Supreme table has a slightly different surface and that this
differs from many other tables out there -- is this a good thing or a
bad thing for recreational players?
Thanks very much in advance for any input.

Given that choice, without any doubt in my mind, choose the
Stiga Expert.
I was at the Teams, and I was completely turned off by the
Supreme tables.
I think the best analogy that I have is that the Expert looks
like a smooth drywall, while the Supreme surface looks like
a texured wall. Although textured walls may be
aesthetically pleasing, a texured table is extremely odd.

I like to think of those tables at Teams as "Pips-Out" tables.
I didn't particularly like them, but they didn't seem to affect my
playing level one way or the other.

Thanks to all for the feedback! These were exactly my thoughts, and
your comments (and links) confirmed it. Stiga Expert it is.
