However, it is not my style. My preference is to be the only one right
when everyone else is wrong.

Therefore, I would never create an anonymous poster who agrees with
me. In contrast, Kevin Bachler and Bruce Draney feel a need to have
someone in the group agree with them, so when they feel outnumbered
they go out and create a fake personality. I never do that.

I was just researching the Bible to find out an example of this.
Repent sinners and read your Bible. There is a story in the Old
Testament that goes something like this:

They brought 30 great and wise men and they all said that A was true,
but this prophet said, no A is false and B is true.

Then they brought 60 great and wise men and they all said that A was
true, but this prophet said, no A is false and B is true.

Then they brought 100 great and wise men and they all said that A was
true, but this prophet said, no A is false and B is true.

In the end it comes out that the prophet was right and all those other
190 were wrong.

Can anybody find the name of this prophet because I am just looking
and I cannot remember it? It might have been the same one who was told
by God to lie.

Sam Sloan

I have found the passage in the Bible I had in mind. It is in 1 Kings
22.

In this passage, the King of Israel is thinking of going to battle
against the King of Syria. Therefore, he calls 400 prophets and asks
them who will win the battle.

All 400 prophets tell himthat he will win the battle.

As the King of Israel is preparing for the battle, the King of Judea
recommends that he call just one more prophet.

With great reluctance, the King of Israel calls that one more prophet.

That prophet, whose name is Micaiah, is called.

Micaiah tells the King of Israel the same thing, which is that he will
be victorious.

The King of Israel says to Micaiah,"OK. Now, tell me what you really
see."

Micaiah replies,"Well actually I forsee that you will be defeated and
your army will be scattered."

The King of Israel gets very angry and orders Micaiah to be sent to
prison.

The King of Israel goes into battle and, just as the Prophet Micaiah
has forseen, the Army of Israel is defeated and the King of Israel is
killed.

So, the 400 prophets were wrong and the one prophet Micaiah was right.

The moral and application to this story is obvious.

I have CM9000 and it can't save my place in the tutorials, which
makes it so that I can't use them.

Does 10th Edition allow you to save your place in the tutorials so
you can come back to it? If so, I might buy it.

Also, does 10th Edition still have the 2D Mohagany board set that I
prefer?

there is a Fritz Maple 2D board, which I like, no mahogony in 2D but there
are some nice 3D classic wood and classic old wood sets.

When you buy it, which I think is very worh it, go to
http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/frm/f/760105752 to get the patch to
upgrade it and also get some custom sets which you can download and they fit
right in and work with no hassle. they might have a mahogony. no
carpathian elm however.

But Fritz doesn't have various levels of rated opponents, does it?

I cant think of any book right now. But i guarantee you that you're
somewhat weaker then before. After all, you played only 1 opponent all
this time.

This is a pretty good game for one-minute chess. My opponent played
stupidly, as most 2300s do.

Maybe he should stick to arm wrestling. (Never could resist a gloat.)

Where can one find these custom sets to download?

I can't find them at their site or anywhere else.

ChessCentral.com has a great selection of chess computers, any of which will
help you learn the game, as well as give you a partner when a human isn't
available. Enjoy

Hello all,

I am getting back into playing chess. I plan on purchasing a regular
board,
but for now I want to practice versus a computer board. Can someone
recommend a good electronic chess board to play against a computer? I
have
seen them around but I want to make sure I get a good one.

Thanks.
