Grand Canyon State Games Under 1800 Singles Round Robin
Dave Meany vs. Robert Trudell - Game 3 - Best of Five
I changed my rubber for the first time in 4 years this morning in hopes to get
a little extra spin and power. I got both, but lost some control. I hope I
got enough practice with it today so that I'll play well tomorrow. I'd like to
win the Over 40 Singles event.
In this match against Dave, I had a number of miss hits, a couple timing
problems and a few control issues. I believe a little practice will resolve
these problems. I think I need to relax a little more to get some more feel of
the ball. I felt the extra forehand power with the Butterfly Catapult rubber
over the old sheet of Sriver that I was using. I lost some touch in the short
game, but gained some power to go though players easier with the loop drive. On
my backhand I replaced my old Sriver with a new sheet. I got a little glue
effect from the Elmer's Rubber Cement I used. It wasn't extreme and I don't
know what to expect from it on Sunday. I imagine it'll just be a little
stickier than the previous sheet I had with a little extra speed since the
sponge is new.
