ASP.NET? Assume so, since that is this group, but people never fail to
surprise me. ;-)
I would personally invest a bit of time into learning CSS and use CSS
for the look and feel of your site. You can control placement of the
Grid, along with other elements.
The GridView is not the most CSS friendly, imo, but you can use the CSS
friendly adapters. When .nET 4.0 comes out, most controls are better at
CSS, so that is another option, especially if you have a bit of time
before the app has to "go to market". VS 2010 beta 2 and .NET 4.0 beta 2
are under "Go Live" license, which means Microsoft states they will make
it upgradeable to the RTM version. This does not mean "no risk", just
that the risk from now to March 22nd is very low. THe risk of moving to
..NET 4.0 may be a bit too big, however, especially in a very large
company.
