IBM Q3 in...
According to the main press release quarter was flat for IM.

Does anyone have more specific news, like Database sales up/down while other IM products up/down?
(Yes IM sells other products like ETL, BI, etc ...)

Just curious.

I wonder how long it will take before IBM actually starts to listen to what I, Eric and others have been saying all along.

But hey! What do I know? I mean heck I've actually thought about a way for IDS to implement Google's big table or actually HBase and Hadoop.
Now all I need is a co-conspirator who has a network of 100's of IDS engines that we could play with. ;-)

Who cares about good or bad numbers as long as IBM (Marketing) makes
this world a "Smarter Planet" ? Smile

Why would you get HBase or Hadoop with Informix as it is free out there?

Ah, surely you jest.

This is one of those exercises where you need to think outside of the box.

Hi IMG,
if you take your umbrella with you - just in case the clouds get grey
or dark grey - the public cloud might be your friend to test this.
AND
I'd get the opportunity to showcase for you how much cheaper it is if you
avoid the public cloud Smile
In my last benchmark the difference was astonishing high when it comes
to more than a lab setup (>>5000 nodes). Not to mention that one can learn
what which PC [as in public cloud] provider has and what not. Much like
in my bank when I go there to withdraw 200K EUR in cash ;)
