Hi all,

I have an IDL pipeline to process a bunch of images and I'd like to
integrate MultiDrizzle to combine some of my images. Does anyone have
any suggestions as to how to go about doing the integration? Can I
SPAWN or CALL_EXTERNAL MultiDrizzle? I've never used it before, so
any suggestions would be very helpful.

Or, if somebody has a good way of combining astronomical images in
IDL, that would probably be even better.

For an IDL solution I might look at the SIMPLE pipeline (
http://www3.asiaa.sinica.edu.tw/~whwang/idl/SIMPLE/index.htm ) and in
particular the procedure mosaic_wide.pro. For a non-IDL solution
(an alternative to Multidrizzle) I would check out SWARP (
http://www.astromatic.net/software/swarp ).

All of these solutions will have a steep learning curve, but I don't
know anything simpler. --Wayne
