Hi

while trying to set up a new replicate and working on a very long queue (up
to 80.000.000 length whatever) there appear connection errors in the message
log:

17:26:57 CDR: Re-connected to server, id 5, name <grp_sun1>
17:27:19 CDR NIF receive failed asfcode: -25582 oserr 6
17:27:19 CDR connection to server lost, id 5, name <grp_sun1>
Reason: connection lost

17:28:07 CDR NIF receive failed asfcode: -25582 oserr 0

17:28:08 CDR: Re-connected to server, id 5, name <grp_sun1>

17:28:34 CDR connection to server lost, id 5, name <grp_sun1>
Reason: connection lost
17:28:36 CDR: Re-connected to server, id 5, name <grp_sun1>
17:28:38 CDR connection to server lost, id 5, name <grp_sun1>
Reason: connection lost

IDS 11.50.FC5 and IDS 11.50.FC5W4 both on Solaris.

I'm a bit desperate with ER and had asked for help here several time with
only very little response. No specialists here? Please help!

For example: What could be done if the sendqueue ist growing continuously
showing that the replication works slower than the updates on the sending
table?

Errno 6 is: No such device or address

It looks like your communications between the primary and secondary servers
is not reliable. The primary keeps losing touch with the secondary. I have
a client with the same problem. Their telecom supplier is installing faster
cleaner lines this weekend. Perhaps you should explore the same option.

Yes, Art, that's absolutely possible. Had have similar problems with HPL
while transfering data through named pipes to the server grp_db5. Although,
the serverhosts are all in the local network with 1000 Mbps (dmesg: link up
1000Mbps Full-Duplex).

Must ask our network specialist if he can find anything misterious.

thanks, Reinhard.

Yeah, something is going on in the network. Perhaps the two machines are on
separate segments and the switch/router between the segments is getting
errors. Good luck.
