SENIOR A.I. SOFTWARE ENGINEER POSITION - $90-120K
ABOUT US
Our client is a consulting, programming, and systems integration firm
in the North Dallas area. They have a diverse line of software
products for various vertical markets from Oil & Gas, Defense and
Government, Banking, Legal, and HVAC industries. They also do
consulting work for these industries as well as DoD and Aerospace.
They are a small company and are making the transition from a 100%
virtual company to a physical business. They have several developers
that will continue to work from their home offices because of their
locations and the inconvenience of relocation.
Their teams members are people who take initiative, are resourceful
and innovative, and are passionate about what they do. In return for

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, develops, codes, tests and debugs new complex
software solutions or enhancements to existing software in a
maintenance capacity.
Has excellent understanding of business applications.
Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and
resolve them.
Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions
for improvements and enhancements.
May assist in development of software technical documentation.
Demonstrates broad knowledge of technical solutions.
Designs and codes complex applications using advanced technology;
May create optimization programs to resolve problems;
May design and build prototype applications.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree required; Masters or PHD desired.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 8 years of related experience; excellent communication
skills, written and verbal; ability to handle multiple projects
simultaneously
Expert C and C++ programming experience (8 years +).
Expert Unix/Linux OS knowledge.
Advanced SQL (MySQL required, MS SQL, or Oracle desired).
PROLOG Experience (actual production beyond academia).
LISP Experience strongly desired.
AI Knowledge of and experience building object-oriented and knowledge-
based systems.
Embedded programming experience.
Design Patterns & UML
Architecting complex framework and platform solutions using complex
algorithm development
Active Security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Application Architecture: Identifies common business components and
services that can be leveraged by multiple applications. Excellent
ability to architect, design and develop Object Oriented and Service
Oriented software with practical use of design patterns. Extensive
knowledge of algorithm development using Prolog and C in UNIX
environment.
Engineering Specifications: Understands, interprets and translates
engineering requirements into the necessary designs and
documentation.
Software Design: Understands standard software modeling techniques
used to describe system designs; designs components of larger software
systems; utilizes existing system components that can be leveraged by
multiple applications; understands capabilities of environment .
Software Process Knowledge: Knowledge of end to end product life
cycle as well as product operational cycle -conception to delivery to
ongoing operations. Software Programming: Understands concepts of
source code control and how to use tools; translates the design
specification into physical code; creates and assembles code modules
from existing code repositories; has detailed knowledge of one or more
programming languages; uses common development tools for required
language, platform, database, middleware and environment.
Systems Analysis: Determines how a system should work and how changes
in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes,
knowledge of products and system architecture. |
