You expect too much from that public, hpuxrac. Not everyone is able to
laugh with themselves.

What is that public Gerard? What's more, I haven't noticed anything even
remotely funny. What exactly do you consider funny?

The humor lies in you saying exactly how you feel, and the incongruity
of hpuxrac acting as though you hadn't. It's not particularly picking
on you, it is just pointing out that you are stating strong opinions
that not everyone may share, so it may appear pompous, hopefully
pointed out in a manner so that you see it and laugh along with us,
whoever us is. If you played along, perhaps some of us would be
entertained by the Schadenfreude of Oracle-L, if any. Given your
expressed feelings, I'd expect you'd like that. I don't feel quite so
strongly, I find some interesting stuff over there, but I share some
of your feelings. This is our livelihood, we're allowed to feel
strongly about people being idiots about it. This is usenet, we can
flame and move on to the next flame if we choose.

Don't choke on your popcorn Noons :-)

I just invented it to get your attention.  Based on IANAL and your fluency with words: You Must
Be A Lawyer.   Liar and Loser were not called for, were they?

No, sorry, I just had a King Crimson song (Elephant Talk) worm its way
into my ear when I started thinking about words starting with L. Just
didn't hit on Lawyer, perhaps too close to Liar.

I lasted about a semester and a half in law school, then ran for the
solidity of geekdom after looking at a (non-electronic) job board one
day in 1980.

What is that public? Why, you are that public. I was just warning hpuxrac that that public
would not notice anything even remotely funny. Myself, I am able to laugh with a lot of things,
but not everything. For example, last week I was in France, and the choice of radio stations
over there is rather poor. One station is called "Rire" (Laugh, in english). They give as
small news bulletin on the hour. In the news, friday, was the fact that there was a new
development in the case of a young boy, Gregory Villemin, killed 25 years ago. One of the
reporters found it necessary to joke about that. That was something I could not put into
perspective, so I didn't find it funny.

But the minute you open your mouth, MG, you have me ROFL.

Good thing is that he has talents. Not everybody does.

Of course not, MG, after what you received, there were none left.

PS: Seriously, I do apologize for bringing this up.
I should have remembered how Mladen feels about it and that it'd elicit strong
reactions.  I am sorry.

What now you cannot ask questions here on cdos Noons? Not your
problem if some people have hurt feelings. There is always the choice
of just scrolling on by.

It does have to be a first time seeing you post "I am sorry" ... is
this some strange parallel universe where the DC superhero's have
morphed into the X men?

I think you got the wrong person right there...

You don't need to apologize, Mladen's a big boy (unless you had some
side conversation with him about it). I can see where hpuxrac might
have thought that, as he's perhaps only seen you posting about things
like BS from oracle, and really, your style is admirable. After all,
Mladen's complaint is the milquetoast nature of Oracle-L due to its
moderation, and that's not you.
