Hi there

I'm working on a machine with the following OS configuration: Windows
2008 Server (R) 64bits Standard without Hyper-V, Service Pack 2

I need to install an Oracle client to have my .NET application working.
I've tried with the 10g release 2
(http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10201winx64soft.html)
but the installer raises the folowing error:

Starting Oracle Universal Installer... Checking installer
requirements... Checking operating system version must be 5.1 or 5.2
Actual 6.0

Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance,
Giulio

The certification matrix sayeth:

Do not install Oracle Database 10g Release 2 on Windows Server 2008
using the 10.2.0.1 version. You must use the 10.2.0.3 (32-bit)
or 10.2.0.4 (x64) versions specifically created for Windows Server 2008
to install Oracle Database 10g Release 2 on the operating system.
For more information on installation:

IIRC you'll need at least a 10.2.0.3 Client if you are
using Win2008Srv.

For Win2008x64 Oracle recommends this Client (10.2.0.4):

Best wishes!
