Hi
we are converting a Filemaker application which handles this task
amazingly simple.
this is almost like the old days with the mail merge feature with Word
when you would pass the customer name, address and other pertinent
data and the letter would look customized.
My situation is I consolidated ~290 templates from Filemaker into 25
custom templates to handle their customization. It consists of text
with variables related to computations and stored database fields
resembling the old mail merge.
But now I'm trying to see ways to build our customers letters based on
certain codes. We had some approaches for when this would go under
Oracle, but we had to switch to SQL Server!!
Any ideas, references, experiences would be appreciated........
