I have to provide an internet and intranet set of solutions to a
regulatory organization starting in November 09. So I am looking for a
VAR or company that can take this to fruition. The users will be about
50 and there will have to be https as well. Routines to copy selected
data from the MV to SQLServer will be a boon. |

Hi Sidney,
I assume that you already have the MultiValue database and simply want
to pump the data into SQL Server for web publication. If this is
correct, can you please let us know which MultiValue database you are
working with?
Any reason why you can’t simply take the data from the MultiValue
database to the web – are you aggregating disparate data in the SQL
store before publication?

I'll add my "me too" to get more info on this, and might as well
summarize the Nebula R&D offering here for other similar projects.
Nebula Research and Development provides development services to
web-enable existing applications. Coincidentally we're doing more
with SQL Server integration lately too. Before seeing this thread I
tweeted a note about a CSV to SQL Server that I just wrote for a
client who prefers (for now) to work with CSV files rather than direct
MV-to-RDBMS transfers, but with the tools we're using now it's getting
easier to create direct MV/relational exchange utilities.
Preferred tools for development include ASP.NET with C#, and our
resources include a C# MVP who helps to keep development moving
quickly and inline with best practices. For attractive GUI we offer
"premium" vs "standard" development using Telerik Rad Controls. These
tools allow us to create rich cross-browser web interfaces that are
functionally and aesthetically much higher quality than are attainable
with standard tools. Telerik reporting tools also facilitate the
creation of high quality dynamic reports. These can be used to create
a new front-end reporting interface for existing apps, completely
separate from other browser-based inquiry/update projects.
The preferred tool for MV communications is mv.NET, which works with
most MV platforms, and combined with the relational utilities
mentioned above this allows for relatively rapid development of all of
the interfaces mentioned above.
My primary platform of expertise is D3 but I have current experience
with all current MV platforms (running at least 7 MV DBMS environments
plus SQL Server and MySQL concurrently on our database servers at the
moment), and our other resources have expertise in all MV platforms.
In summary, we offer comprehensive solutions for GUI, communications,
interfaces with applications like MS Office, interfaces with
internet-based services like Google apps (maps, docs, etc), fax,
email, attractive PDF, scanning, and simply-stated: MV to Anything.
