I found it once and saw that a lot of people were present there, in
particular Greg Heath. Was it from MIT or Princeton or...? So I'm
wondering if it is gaining popularity and this newsgroup is waning -
especially with Google search barfing.

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Tom

The only other group I post to re NNs is comp.soft-sys.matlab.

Hope this helps.

Are you sure Greg? I thought I remembered a www style forum where you
were also posting - I remember being surprised when I found your
postings. Might it have been one that is no more?

This NewsGroup is "going to the dogs" IMO which is unfortunate because
the driving force in most cases is support being dropped. My ISP
provided dropped most NewsGroup coverage and if this Google search
thing persists, that will be very bad since Google is the "800 pound
gorilla."

Tom

Yes, things have definitely gone downhill.

1. The number of CANN posters has dropped significantly.
2. The FAQ has not been updated since 2002
3. The archives are very difficult to access because of
Google's search problems.

Since MATLAB seems to be the software of choice for many
technical curriculums, there are many more NN oriented posts
on comp.soft-sys.matlab. Too bad instructors don't make
students aware of CANN. Crossposting would be helpful
since many of the problems are not MATLAB specific.
