I have a Garmin 305 GPS device, this is an exercise watch that records
distance, pace, heart rate and other useful data.
To date I have used this with some software (Garmin Training Center)
supplied by the manufacturer.
This software does not work under Wine.
It installs OK, a splash screen then invites me to connect my device,
which I do (USB) and click OK at which point the software tells me no
device connected and shuts down.
Any pointers appreciated as I really don't want to depend on Windows
just for my exercise data.

You probably don't have the USB ports working in Wine. Try here:
http://wiki.winehq.org/USB
Also look for a native Linux application. Search with Google for
"garmin GPS linux" and you should find some suggestions. |
