The upgrade had been considered and planned. Then budgets got cut.

Hi Gerald. Thanks for the recommendation, but I don't see a graphical
query builder for Tora via:
http://tora.sourceforge.net/
Am I missing something? This is the one feature my colleagues rely on
most heavily and would rather not live without; especially for those
who aren't as strong in SQL.
Me, I'm often fine with SQL*PLUS. Others are not.
And can you comment on Tora's schema / object comparison
functionality? I need something that will enable me to compare any
named schema on any server to any other schema (could be a differently
named one) on a different server--all without having the u/n and p/w
of both schemas. TOAD can do this. SQL Developer cannot. That would be
the biggest feature I miss from TOAD.
Thanks.

Interested in hearing more about Tora.
Any other thoughts--or other places I could post my question to?
Thanks.

Bump. Any other ideas? I won't be able to sell anyone on Tora if it
doesn't have a graphical query builder.
Thanks. |

Try Flyspeed, it is a very good query builder, they have a free
version as well as a paid for version, the paid for verion is only
$30. I use it to complement sql developer. I added it as an exteranl
tool so I can launch it while I'm in sql develper. |

There's also SQuirreL but I think it does not feature a graphical query
builder. It does have code completion and some graphic schema presentation:

We use pl/sql developer by Allround Automations
(www.allroundautomations.com)
It's not free, but a lot cheaper than Toad. Does have a graphical query
builder, compare etc. You can download a trial version at their site.

Sorry, haven't been paying attention. I'll check it out tomorrow at work. You may well be
right that there's no graphical query builder. |
