Hi. I have been reviewing previous posts, and had a question. We have a
Windows Server 2003 R2, SP2 environment. When I go to download the
Pervasive on our new server as admin, it loads, but the psa does not come up
to test the relational and transactional databases. I get a 3012 microkernel
error, and when I go into the control center, it says class not registered.
Our Exact support does not know what the issue may be, and are suggesting we
up to V9 so Pervasive can be reached for support. We have a Dell quad core
server with a teraflop of disk space partitioned into C and E drives, most of
the partition being E.
Any suggestions of where I could be going awry? Pervasive has been loaded to
C and to E with the same issue.
Thanks!

Sounds like the install is failing. I would recommend removing all
Pervasive components, rebooting, manually removing any remaining files
in the \PVSW folder, and then blowing away the HKLM/Software/Pervasive
Software and HKCU/Software/Pervasive Software keys, then reboot again.
When you reinstall, be sure that you are physically ON the server, and
not trying to do this via Remote Desktop. MSTSC is NOT supported for an
install of the PSQLV8 machine (but it is under PSQLv10). You may wish
to re-download the PSQLV8 installer, in case your install EXE is mangled
somehow.
