Hi all,

I'm not an architect but due to professional reasons I had to start learning
some of the architecture basics. Now I need to use a 3D software which
allows me to create a building and walk around it, seeing all the internal
and external details.

I've tried the 3D Home Architect Deluxe 6 but the "walk around" tool is not
working good for me, since the navigation is done with the mouse. Could
someone here please tell me what's the best software available for this
purpose? The me is being able to create any kind of building and being able
to walk all around it in 3D.

I'd also ask you people to point some sites where I could learn more about
those 3D softwares and the architecture basics. I'm a complete newbie.

Thanks in advance,

John Silva

I'm an engineer and have used three of those home design progs. The last one
was from
Punch! Like the others, it was quite buggy and they very rarely fix the
bugs. Instead they
expect you to pay most of the original price over and over for upgrades that
are equally full
of bugs.

The walkthrough took a bit of time to get used to. However, when you get the
hang of it, it shows reasonably realistic views. Navigation IS by mouse and
you can get a "helicopter view" from the outside that's a bit difficult to
control or a walkthrough the building. In the walkthrough, the mouse is used
to direct an icon towards a door and, when you pass in, you see what's
inside. You can turn the icon around with the mouse to get different views.
Maybe you should spend a little more time experimenting.

I suggest you try to get an evaluation version before paying anything.

Good luck
