Totally depends on the connection speed of the person from whom you are
downloading the file (as well as the file size, of course). I have
downloaded songs in less than 30 seconds.

When I used to do that, I would hide behind open Socks proxy
servers, so I could not be traced by the recording indistry in America

Their standard package is 6Mbps down and 384k up. Their speed tier is
8mbps down and 768k up.

Yet as we speak Comcast is rolling out Blast speeds, 16/1 or 16/2 for their
Speed Tier customers. I got upgraded to 16/2 here in November. No
additional cost. Also DOCSIS 3 is rolling out as well. Already began
Wideband speeds (50/5) in the Minn/St Paul area. Not cheap though. $150
monthly
