Can anyone help me?

I have very important data on my one of the hard disk in word files and
excel files, that got infecetd by virus on 10-4-2004. And the virus set
these all important files to 0Kb size.

All the computers are on network and we are using windows 98 OS.


But these files are are with .lnk extension, they are having bytes in
these files. But they do not open. These all are word files and excel
files.

How can i take back data from these .lnk files, these point to
c:/windows/temp folder. and in temp no data
please tell me what can i do to restore my files lost and delet the virus
