I have tried to open java jar files with browsers on Windows XP, Linpus, ARM
XDA and Android and most times they do not work. THe reason I think I am the
one doing something wrong is they DO work on a full featured XP machine. On
the "home" XP it finds the file type unknown. On the Android HTML viewer it
come sup all binary. WHat don't I understand about JAVA?

If you just want to open .jar files you can use any (un)zipping tool,
such as Winzip or unzip. If you want to run Java applications, you need
to have JRE installed. However, there is no JRE for Android. If you want
to run Java ME applications on Android, you need to convert them to the
format that Android understands. For that purpose you can use a tool
such as Java/J2ME Runner.

You must install a 32-bit JRE and turn on Java in the browser.
