Hi Everyone, having fun trying to use Auto Update Statistics.
After a call to IBM I registered the correct datablade in sysadmin
database so at least it's working and we don't need UC6.
I then read the manual on how to use AUD in the online
documentation. : )
It doesn't seem to behave how I think it should or even after
tinkering with many options it's hard to see how on earth it works.
Is there some doco / link with a simple example other than the manual.
I want to evaluate once a day at say 1am and then run stats on group
of hosts A
Group of hosts B, I want to run on weekends once a week.
Hard to explain but... It seems there you can either schedule (with an
evaluate and a refresh) (logical and / or) run it at a certain
frequency (logical and or) run it after percent... Which one takes
precedence or is it more convoluted still? My logical and or is
because I'm not sure if they are summed together or one section of the
configuration task takes precedence. e.g. I set it to run after 1 days
but also conflict with a eval/refresh at 1:00am/1:10am and also for
tables < 100 and 30%. It seems to evaluate quite a lot!
11.50.UC4, Virt Sol 10, OAT 2.26.
Can someone at IBM re-write the manual as well. BTW, best feature ever
if you could work out how to use it, if only compression were free.
Life - fixing everyone else's problems single handedly (obviously I
gave up on this one - have my own script as an easier option) |

And BTW, although I have my own script, I'm leaving this site (and
Australia for the UK) so rather than use my script, I want something
IBM supported to be in place for the people left behind.
