Hello-
I have a database that contains 11,000 records, each with a container
field holding a file. The files are txt, pdf, html, doc, etc. I want
to export all of these files to disk, as the first step of a
transition from storing the files in the database to storing just file
references.
I've written a simple script to loop through the records and call
Export Field Contents for each record. However, every few hundred
records, I will get the error:
"FILENAME" could not be created on this disk. Use a different name,
make more room on the disk, unlock it or use a different disk.
The really strange thing is that this does not appear to be file
specific. For example, file 224377 will throw the error, then if I
rerun the script, that file will export fine and a different file (one
that exported perfectly the first time) will throw the error.
I am running Filemaker Pro 9 Advanced on Mac OS X 10.6. My database is
hosted by Filemaker Server 9 on Windows Small Business Server 2003. I
am exporting the files to a network share on the server.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you,
Nate |

Ursus has probably got it covered, but I think it's important to note
that Snow Leopard is not fully supported by FM9 and will never be.

My guess is the exports are coming in to close on each other.
Try giving the script some breathing space after each iteration with a pause
script step
