Discussions on this group used to be very interesting and helpful,
especially those related to my own research. It's SF's blog now. Is
there an alternative forum?
Thanks

Don't give up. The troll has trashed other groups but at least he seems
to move on after a while. Can't you just killfile him ?

I concur, - finally killfiled the silly troll on Friday and this morning

the group is down to 3 useful threads, 4 foot-wear advertisments, and
approximately 6 comments/replies/flames regarding sf. If nobody bothers
replying to it then, with one more shoe-filter I can get only the pure-
stuff.

Only one real solution?: a moderator?

Who'd block only obvious spam (viagra, "bigger", pfizer, ...) -- but would let
through just about *anything* even *remotely* related to the group-name (eg, like
the stupid stuff that *I* sometimes ask!).

Maybe someone who looks at the group every day anyway, comments on lots
of the posts -- for such a person, doing moderating in addition to
that might not require much additional time?

Hey, I know something we can talk about: Just last week I received that multi-pound
Siggraph Proceedings "book". This year's happens to have LOTS of interesting
stuff!

It'd be neat if some of the real gurus here would comment a bit on this or that
paper.

Cheers!

David
