I've been watching the news and it seems like right now for the
economy
the unemployment situation is the worst element of the recession. The
economy is OK for many people who have jobs (although in the U.S. the
standard of living question comes in but I don't want to focus on the
political).
The problem is that people need jobs, and the people who have the
resources
historically are not known to be the brightest lights in the bunch.
Have any of you who work in AI thought more about the construction of
useful, unique and unusual "brainstorms" in computational linguistics,
instead
of the creation of an artificial brain/state of consciousness.
I've been writing on this area and started my software company in
1992, but I also
do other things and I haven't networked very much with the AI
community.
I'm interested in your thoughts.

"intelligence augmentation" - which is where we have made most of
