D3/NT (7.5.5) Stability?...

I have a client that runs an old D3/NT 7.2.1 system. It's actually
been very stable for years, but now they wish to upgrade to 7.5.5 and
stay on Windows. They'll probably upgrade to a Win2008 server as ell.

For anyone running 7.5.5, how has it been? The client does not use
secondary indexes, and though it would be nice if they finally worked,
it's not important.

I also seem to recall a posting here mentioning that TL is going to
release a new Windows D3 version, 9?? Any info on that, or is a
longer term roadmap product?

HI
I have several sites on Windows 7.5 using Server 2000, 2003, and XP. I have
just installed on Vista but that install has not been pressured. I do run
very standard code and avoid indices that are flaky in the FSI anyway. We
have not moved any above patch 4 at the moment.
D3 9 is the gangbusters release for the Pick conference this year. It
better be good, If you are late for the party then you need to make an
entrance or sit forgotten in the corner. We are talking Madonna here not
Bridget Jones Smile

Still on 7.5.4 here but since I don't yet exercise the features I've
foresaken from the past I'm not qualified to provide testimony as to
the stability of some features including indices. (If commissioned to
do so I'll be happy to exercise specific components of D3 to help VARs
determine if current releases are suitable for their needs.)

Advertised features for D3v9 and surprisingly mvBase v3:

PS/RD made the unfortunate error many years ago of talking about
upcoming features that didn't make it into a production cut and it
damaged credibility. The word is that anything advertised for D3v9 is
guaranteed to be in there.

BTW, a recent no-so-subtle Nortgate marketing email seems to serve no
purpose whatsoever but to poke fun at D3v9. The email consists of an
image with clouds in the shape of "9.0" and the line "Is your head in
the wrong cloud?" Funny.
