Supercomputing

Full announcement available at:

The Computer Vision and Systems Laboratory of Universite Laval is
requesting applications for PhD students in the field of intelligent
distributed systems. More specifically, the research project will be
on the development of supervised learning algorithms for processing
large databases, as well as the massive parallelization of these
algorithms for supercomputing and grid computing. We are seeking
serious and motivated candidates with interest and preferably
experience in the fields of machine learning, evolutionary computation
and/or high performance computing. This position should be filled as
soon as possible.

At the moment of beginning the project, the selected candidate should
have completed a Masters diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant field
such as computer engineering or computer science, and satisfy
admission conditions of the electrical engineering PhD program at
Universite Laval. The financial support offered is $19 000 CAD/year,
non-taxable by the different government levels of Canada. The tuition
fee for non-Canadian PhD students at Universite Laval is approximately
$3000 CAD/year.

Applications should be submitted electronically and include a detailed
curriculum vita, a scan of university transcripts as well as some
papers or scientific reports where the applicant is the main author.
