Hi

Does anyone know whether a modem should respond to "+++" when it's
already in online command mode (or even in command mode)? If it
should, should it return ERROR or OK?

Thanks
John

Depends on the modem - none the less, the two Rockwell and one
USRobotics I've got access to ignore the '+++' in command mode, with
or without the one second guard periods assuming the characters are
not confused with a regular command ("AT+++" would return ERROR, as it
is not a legitimate command). When on-line, all three do return to
command mode if the guard periods are met, as expected.

Thanks for that. I had a look on the net and couldn't find anything
definitive about what should happen in that case, and I didn't have
any modems to hand other than the one we're developing here and for
which I need to know the answer!!
